About Tuberculosis and Lung Health courses
The Union’s Tuberculosis (TB) and Lung Health courses are offered in both clinical and programmatic aspects of TB, multidrug-resistant TB, TB-HIV and tobacco control. These courses aim to bring new knowledge to the forefront for health practitioners and policy makers, contribute to implementation of public health programmes that provide quality diagnosis, treatment and care for patients with TB and build capacity of health professionals to record, report, monitor and evaluate services that are provided and ensure continuous quality assurance and strengthening in consultation with patients and communities. Participatory adult training approaches are employed in the conduct of the courses that can also be revised to respond to a country situation when necessary.
TB and Lung Health course participants are eligible to earn continuing education units (CEU) and continuing medical education (CME). The TB and Lung Health courses are accredited by both the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP).
