Dr Chen-Yuan Chiang

Dr Chen-Yuan Chiang - Tuberculosis and Lung Health

Dr Chen-Yuan Chiang is a clinician trained in Taiwan, specialised in respiratory and critical care medicine, obtained his Master of Public Health degree at the University of California- Berkeley, in Berkeley, California and Dr Philos at University of Bergen, in Norway. In 2003, he joined the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), Paris, France, as an international consultant for TB and lung diseases. He has provided technical assistance to national tuberculosis programmes in several countries in Asia and Africa.

Dr Chiang is a member of the Core Group of Global Drug-Resistant TB Initiative (GDI), the TB Technical Advisory Group of WHO Western Pacific Region, the Regional GLC in the Western Pacific, and the Technical Review Panel, Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. He is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and Public Health Action, and Associate Professor, in the Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine, College of Medicine, Taipei Medical University. He has coordinated several international training courses on clinical and programmatic management of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and operational researches, and has published more than 100 papers, chapters of books, and monographs on tuberculosis and lung health.
